Your journey starts as we pick you up from your hotel in Cancun or the Riviera Maya, on your way to Chichen Itza you’ll learn about Mayan culture and history. As you arrive at Chichen Itza, you’ll be greeted by an official Gray Line Certified bilingual guide who will accompany you on your visit to the Mayan vestiges. Your experience consists of a full two hours accompanied by a guide and some time to explore the vestiges at your own pace.
You’ll go into Chichen Itza’s archaeological site skipping the main entrance waiting lines through a private entrance at the award-winning Mayaland Hotel & Bungalows, a tropical paradise tucked between ancient temples. With your guide, you’ll explore the architecture of the central group of vestiges, which were constructed during the Classic Maya period, a time when the ancient city’s population was at its peak. Next, explore the northern group of temples, which shows the takeover of the famous tribe of Kukulkan, a religious movement that consumed the culture of the original site and can be identified through the symbolism of a plumed serpent climbing along temples and pyramids.
After your two-hour guided tour, enjoy all of the amenities the Mayaland Hotel & Bungalows has to offer. Relax poolside, enjoy a massage, partake on another adventure or re-enter the site as many times as you like with no lines and zero hassles.
Bring your experience full circle by biting into local delicacies which have been passed down through generations for centuries accompanied by fresh hand-made tortillas. Enjoy a buffet-style dining experience made to meet any dietary needs; enjoy Yucatecan, Mexican and Maya cuisine as well as international, pescatarian, vegetarian and vegan options.
We’ll leave the hotel at 2:30 pm and go onto Merida to drop you off so you can continue on wherever your journey may take you.
